Arcane Brew Studio ("we", "us", or "our") develops and publishes the game JigGather (the "Game"). This policy explains what information the Game handles, why, who receives it, and how you can ask us about it.
We are the controller of the player information we decide to collect for cloud save, leaderboards, and gameplay analytics. Google controls information it handles for your Google account, Google Play, Play Games, payments, and advertising. Talo processes player information on our instructions for the features described below.
1. In short
- Photos you pick for a puzzle stay on that device. We do not upload them.
- On Android, Google Play Games sign-in connects cloud save, the leaderboard, and gameplay analytics to your Play Games profile. We use your Play Games profile name and profile image. We do not collect or store your contacts or friends list.
- We store progress (level, currency, hints, and puzzle records) with Talo, on servers in Germany. Your photos are not part of that save.
- The leaderboard shows your Play Games profile name, profile image, rank, and experience score to other players.
- The Android version shows Google AdMob banner ads, and rewarded videos only when you choose to watch one. This version does not show full-screen interstitial ads.
- Optional purchases are handled by Google Play. We do not receive your card or bank details.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- JigGather is a general-audience game. It is not directed at children under 13.
The PC version stores photos and progress on that computer. Play Games sign-in, cloud save, leaderboards, ads, and store purchases are Android features.
2. Photos you choose
You can select images from your device and turn them into puzzles.
On Android, the Game uses the system photo picker and receives only the images you select. On PC, a file dialog lets you choose image files. We do not request access to your camera, microphone, or precise location. We do not read or store your contacts.
Selected images are stored in the Game's local app data on that device. We do not upload the image files, and we do not scan them to identify anyone in them. If a photo shows personal information, that information stays inside the image on your device.
Progress for one of these puzzles is stored under an id such as user-1. That id, and stats such as completion and best time, can be included in the cloud save described below. The image is not.
You can delete a photo inside the Game. Uninstalling the Game, or clearing its storage, removes the local copies, subject to any backup you have made yourself.
3. Google Play Games
On Android, the Game signs in with Google Play Games. From that profile we use two things:
- your Play Games profile name
- your Play Games profile image
We do not collect, read, or store your contacts, address book, or Play Games friends list.
Google also provides a player id so the same profile can be recognized for cloud save, the leaderboard, and analytics. The Game sends a one-time sign-in code to Talo for that purpose. We do not receive your Google password.
Your Google account is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Deleting data we hold does not delete your Google account. You manage that account at https://myaccount.google.com.
4. Player record, cloud save, and leaderboard
After Play Games sign-in succeeds, Talo keeps a player record for JigGather. A session token is stored on the device so the Game can stay signed in. Talo states that it stores service data on servers in Germany. Talo's own notice is at https://trytalo.com/privacy.
Cloud save. When you are signed in, we keep a copy of your progress so it can be restored. That copy includes:
- level, experience, coins, gems, and hints
- for each puzzle: whether it is unlocked or finished, which difficulties you have cleared, and your best time and move count
- the same kind of record for puzzles made from your photos, keyed by the puzzle id, not by the photo
The cloud save does not include photo files, daily ad-watch counts, or payment details. If the copy on the device and the copy in the cloud differ, the newer one replaces the older one.
If sign-in does not complete, progress remains on the device.
Leaderboard. We submit your lifetime experience to a global leaderboard. Other players can see rank, your Play Games profile name, your profile image, and score. The Game loads the top entries to display that board. The board is not a contacts or friends list.
5. Gameplay analytics
When Play Games sign-in has succeeded, the Game sends gameplay events to Talo. We use them to understand how JigGather is played and to maintain it. We do not sell these events, and we do not use them to build an advertising profile.
Each event can include:
- operating system name, game version, window mode, and screen size
- puzzle id, difficulty, and whether the puzzle uses one of your photos (yes or no)
- time played, move count, and hints used
- whether a session was started, resumed, abandoned, or completed, and the rewards from a completion
- for a rewarded video you chose to watch: the placement, whether it completed or failed, and the rewards granted
Events are associated with your Talo player id. They are not sent before sign-in succeeds.
6. Advertising
The Android version uses Google AdMob.
- Banner ads appear on the main menu, puzzle selection, leaderboard, store, settings, credits, and unlock screens.
- Rewarded videos play only if you choose to watch one. They can grant gems, hints, or a completion bonus.
- This version does not enable full-screen interstitial ads.
Google and the advertising partners it uses to fill an ad may process an advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with an ad. An IP address can indicate an approximate region. We do not collect GPS location. Where Google's settings and applicable law allow it, ads may be selected using your activity.
We do not receive your advertising identifier in our own analytics events.
A "No ads" purchase turns banner ads off. Rewarded videos stay available if you choose to watch them.
You can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings. On Android this control is in the system settings for ads. You can also review Google ad personalization at https://adssettings.google.com.
We do not use Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics.
7. Purchases
On Android, optional purchases (coin packs, gem packs, and No ads) are processed by Google Play Billing. Google collects the payment information required to charge you. We do not receive your card number, bank account, or billing address.
We receive a product id and a purchase token so we can grant the items once. Those tokens are stored in the Game's local data on the device. Google's privacy policy applies to the payment record Google keeps.
8. Other technical data
The Android version uses the internet for Play Games sign-in, cloud save, leaderboards, ads, purchases, and to download live settings such as reward amounts. Opening this privacy page also connects to the site that hosts it.
A network connection can expose an IP address to the service you are contacting (Google, Talo, or the site host). We do not add a separate location request.
The Game does not ask you to create a JigGather username or password, and it does not ask for your email address. The name shown to other players is your Play Games profile name. We do not store your contacts.
9. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- provide puzzles, including puzzles from photos you select
- save and restore progress
- show the leaderboard
- show ads and complete optional purchases
- understand which puzzles and features are used, and to fix and improve the Game
- keep the Game reliable and limit abuse
- respond to support and privacy requests
- meet legal duties
10. Legal bases
If the GDPR, UK GDPR, or a similar law applies:
- Contract. We process Play Games sign-in data, the player record, cloud save, leaderboard entries, and purchase tokens because those are required to provide the features you use.
- Legitimate interests. We process gameplay analytics to understand and maintain the Game, and we process technical data to keep it secure. You can object, as described in section 13. We do not use analytics to sell personal information.
- Consent. Where the law requires a choice before an advertising identifier is used for ads, that choice is given through your device advertising settings and Google's ad controls.
- Legal obligation. We process information when we must do so to comply with the law.
11. Who receives information
We do not sell personal information.
We share the categories below with these providers, only for the purposes in this policy:
| Provider | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Talo (trytalo.com) | Play Games sign-in code, player id, profile name, profile image address, cloud save, leaderboard score, analytics events | Sign-in, cloud save, leaderboard, and analytics. Talo states that its servers are in Germany. |
| Play Games profile name and profile image, purchase and payment data, and advertising data described in section 6 | Play Games, Google Play distribution and billing, and AdMob | |
| Other players | Profile name, profile image, rank, and leaderboard score | The leaderboard |
| Authorities and advisors | Information we are required to provide, or that is needed to protect players, the Game, or our rights | Law, safety, and disputes |
We do not share your photos with Talo, Google, or other players.
These providers process information under their own privacy terms when they decide the purposes themselves (for example, Google for your Google account and for ads). Links:
12. International transfers
You may use the Game from anywhere. Talo states that it stores data in Germany. Google may process data in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires a safeguard for a transfer out of your country, we rely on the safeguard the provider offers for that service (such as standard contractual clauses) or we do not send that information.
13. How long we keep it, and your rights
On the device. Photos, local progress, session tokens, ad-watch counts, and purchase tokens remain until you delete them in the Game, clear the Game's storage, or uninstall it, and until any backup you control is removed.
On our backend. Cloud progress, the leaderboard entry, the Play Games profile name and profile image held for that player, and analytics events are kept while the player record is needed to provide the Game. When you ask us to delete your data, we delete or anonymize that record, except for a limited set we must keep to comply with law or to resolve a dispute. We do not keep a copy of your contacts.
Payments. Google keeps purchase records under its own policy.
Requests. Email contact@arcanebrewstudio.com with the subject "JigGather privacy request". You can ask to:
- access the personal information we hold
- correct it
- delete it
- receive a copy
- restrict or object to processing, including objecting to analytics based on legitimate interests
- opt out of sharing of personal information for cross-context advertising, if that right applies where you live
- appeal a decision we make about a request
Include your Play Games profile name and, if you have it, your Play Games player id, so we can find the right record. We may ask you to confirm that you control that Play Games profile before we act. We will respond within 30 days. If the law allows more time, we will tell you why.
Deletion removes the JigGather player data we control at Talo: cloud save, analytics events for that player, and the leaderboard entry. It does not close your Google account.
California residents can use the same email. We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising partners may use an advertising identifier as described in section 6, which can be treated as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. Use your device advertising settings and Google's ad settings to opt out. We will not deny the Game, or charge a different price, because you exercise these rights. An authorized agent may submit a request if you give them written permission and we can verify you.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you may also complain to your local data protection authority. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue.
14. Children
JigGather is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under a higher age where your country requires it. The Game includes advertising and optional purchases.
If you believe we have collected personal information from a child, email contact@arcanebrewstudio.com and we will delete it.
15. Security
We rely on Play Games sign-in, local storage on your device, and our service providers' storage and access controls. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
16. Changes
We will change the Effective Date and Last Updated date at the top when this policy changes. If a future version of the Game starts collecting new categories of information, or starts sharing information for a new purpose, we will update this policy before or when that version is released. Where the law requires notice or a fresh choice before a new use, we will provide it.
